EBA was formed at the end of the 1988 season through the amalgamation of UKBMX and NBMXA/BBMXA, and officially rolled out in 1989. However, the unification didn’t last long—politics were already at play, and BBMXA was quickly reformed, bringing the sport back to two associations.
